The daytrip to Angkor Wat was equivalent to endurance training!!Especially the final part of the tour where sis sb had to climb this neverending hill to see the sunset from the top of the hill (romantic right? Hope MK doesn't get jealous! teehee).. We toured the Bayon temple, Angkor Wat as well as a jungle temple -- Angkor Wat, especially, did not disappoint! It was already an adventure in itself going up then down the supersteepsteps! But we are two fit girls! Ahhem. Anyhow, we've been meeting really interesting Cambodian people, most significant amongst all would be the-small-monk (he's only 20!) in Angkor Wat who tried to pick sis SB up! How Wrong Is That!? He gave her his email and mobile number for that matter, and I remember when he pulled out his handphone from his layers of monk robes, I instinctively went WhatThe?! A super secularised (and globalised) monk and just allow yours truly to quote him (on picking-up sis sb), "big monk said it is okay to go near to girls and talk with them and make friends with them as long as I don't sleep with them..." WhatThe?! He said it rather indignantly, mind you! Rotfl. We left Angkor Wat rather exhausted but perfectly pleased with our trip! For dinner tonight, we had Thai BBQ buffet (ohmyThai!) that was within walking distance from our guesthouse. It costs only US$3 per head! One of the english-speaking waiters chatted us up and told us that he's only paid US$40/month albeit working 8hrs/day every night. The degree of poverty in Cambodia is unimaginable, incomprehensible, unreal all snowball into one. I hope my 2.5weeks here will make a difference really, no matter how small...for my God is Big.
